I knew Jennifer of Frippery Vintage would find incredible pieces when she went globetrotting to Italy in search of treasures for her shop, but I didn’t expect her to find the most jaw dropping vintage cocktail ring I’ve ever seen. Two Instagram photos later (here and here), I knew I had to add the gobstopper-size bauble to my collection. It’s everything I love about vintage costume jewelry: brightly colored, oversize, and I won’t see it on someone else. (But if I do spot a lookalike, I’ll know the owner has excellent taste.)View comments)
Last week, a friend asked for help pinpointing a holiday clutch. (Why are clutches always the hardest accessory to find in a pinch?) I spent hours sifting through party purses to find the brightest, shiniest and wittiest bags for the holidays. The Ted Baker clutch is my favorite, but it seems the blue version is now sold out. I could happily settle with the rose gold version. I’m also smitten with Kotur’s surrealist clutch.*
1. Ted Baker, $225 // 2. ASOS, $38 // 3. Modcloth, $45 // 4. Kate Landry, $60 // 5. ASOS, $20 // 6. DVF, $345 // 7. Kotur, $495 // 8. La Regale, $16 // 9. Tory Burch, $595 // 10. Juicy Couture, $60 // 11. Kate Spade, $328 // 12. La Regale, $41 // 13. Nina, $98 // 14. Lulu Guinness, $820
*I’m actually planning a spring event at a gallery that coincides with a surrealism exhibit. How perfect would this clutch be? Or this one?(View comments)
The fall colors here are in full force, but the peak season won’t last much longer. This Elizabeth Cole necklace is a lovely way to enjoy the season’s fiery hues as long as possible.(View comments)
These C. Wonder statement studs are too pretty to narrow it down to a single color and they’re just $38 each, making it all too easy to justify multiples.(View comments)
Even though we got returned from vacation two weeks ago, it’s still hard to get back into the swing of things. Going to work just isn’t as much fun as morning walks along the ocean and wearing my swimsuit under everything! To compensate, I’ve been reaching for these seaworthy accessories: gold boat shoes, coral-shaped earrings, and a scarf that reminds me of the sun reflecting off rippling waves.
FRAAS actually sent the scarf to me before we left for Charleston. The welcome travel companion is gauzy and lightweight (easy to pack!) and incredibly soft. As with most scarves, I used it as a makeshift blanket on the plane - an easy thing to do with its generous dimensions of 40 x 72 inches.View comments)
Madewell kerchief, $18.50
Okay, so maybe I’m drawn to this because I loved Stella McCartney’s citrus print a few years ago or maybe I’m just antsy to receive my banana-print tank (featured here). Either way, I have a serious crush on this Madewell kerchief with its bright array of produce.(View comments)
I was ecstatic to see that Kate Spade’s "Queen of the Nile" clutch ($129) was part of the surprise sale that launched last night. So much so that I actually yelled for Dave to grab a credit card (any credit card!) so I could order it as soon as possible. (He handed over his own AmEx and told me it was an early birthday present.) I had fallen for the clutch last year, added it to my cart numerous times, but just couldn’t pull the $348 trigger. If you’d rather not carry a camel clutch, this ceramic plate ($38) adds a touch of exoticism to your coffee table.

It’s not a secret that I adore Julie Vos’ jewelry. (Actually, “adore” might be too subtle. “Covet,” “obsessed with” and “head-over-heels for” are more accurate.) Julie expertly mixes colored gemstones with classic styles to create pieces that look like precious souvenirs from a faraway marketplace.
Went mod. Admired the first signs of spring. Enjoyed a clear day after weeks of rain. Spent an afternoon at local watering holes. Finally found the perfect pair of pointy black flats. Scooped up a pair of floral shorts. Went to Milwaukee for an overnight getaway. Visited the Milwaukee Brewing Company. Giggled my way through Mindy Kaling’s book. Adored a surprise bouquet of daisies from Dave. Wore this necklace a lot. Pulled out a few springtime accessories.

Right now, I’m coveting:
- An easy shift dress in stripes, of course
- A pretty porcelain tray to corral gems
- A set of mint julep cups, just in time for the Kentucky Derby
- Contrasting bowls stacked in the cupboard
- The Egyptian-inspired print on this airy scarf
- Mirrored shoes with a criss-cross ankle strap
- A cheerful cherry red purse
