Sartorial Spending: June 2013
June was the first time this year that I’ve felt satisfied with all of my purchases. Despite sale temptation, I avoided impulse spending by carefully considering how an item would work into my existing wardrobe (instead of just how it would work into next week’s outfit). The result: items that fit with my classic aesthetic without being boring.
Here’s what I purchased:
- Kate Spade floral shoes – $20 (originally $115, but I had a VISA gift card leftover from Christmas)
- Everlane sweatshirt – $40
- Gerard Yosca necklace – $33 (purchased on Gilt with a discount code)
- Banana Republic silver flats – $20 (purchased with a discount and reward coupons)
- J.Crew pink shorts – $30 (on sale)
- J.Crew stadium wool cocoon coat – $163 (on sale)
- J.Crew Factory polka dot dress – $50 (on sale)
- J.Crew Factory anchor-print tee – $20 (on sale)
Total: $376
Bauble of the Week
Jewelry? Art piece? Whatever you call it, this is one jaw dropping ring from Erickson Beamon.
Friday Find Under $50
J.Crew top, $45
I love this top and I’m sure that’s painfully obvious given that it’s my third time posting about it (proof: here and here). It may be sold out on the J.Crew site, but it’s still available on Net-a-Porter (which also means free shipping!).
Currently Coveting
Right now, I’m coveting:
- A chic striped bikini
- Spending the day on the water
- An adorable little lobster keyfob
- A wear-with-everything statement bracelet
- Updating classic ballet flats with simple stripes
- Star-shaped sparklers
Happy Fourth of July!
