Monkeying Around

February 1, 2016 by jessica

Monkeying-Around-6

If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I don’t particularly enjoy wearing pants — and it’s especially true in the winter. I rely on a uniform of skirts or dresses, tights, and wellies to keep my real shoes safe from precipitation and road salt. I know Hunter boots get a lot of criticism for being worn in colder months. And, no, rubber isn’t exactly the warmest material. However, when they’re paired with thick hiking socks (and a short walk to the car from my apartment and office), they’re really not that bad for a Wisconsin winter.

I wear my Hunter boots in Winter too. Hunter socks or regular boot socks make them quite a bit warmer!

Isn’t it funny how people get so worked up about what you wear on your feet in the winter? For those of us who don’t live downtown in a city, and instead drive most places, hunter boots (or even just flats when it doesn’t snow…) are more than enough!

…and if I do wear pants (with flats, obviously), then everyone asks if my ankles are cold. No. If I were cold, I’d put something else on. Haha. Maybe they don’t understand that Wisconsin girls are surprisingly tolerant of cold weather.

      :-p

Your opaque Tights and Wellies are perfect for the winter, I wear opaque Tights and Wellies starting November to the end of March, on the odd warmer days I wear thinner Tights with my Wellies.

I love this look, especially the fun details like your Hunter boots and pink lips. I’ve been wanting a pair of Hunter boots for the longest time but never have pulled the trigger on a pair! Maybe this is the year 🙂

I’m always amazed at how rubber boots can be made to look so cute! I’m one to be brutal to my leather boots and expose them to the snow and salt. I try to be diligent about cleaning them off when I get in, but of course some damage can’t be avoided. I never managed to master the concept of switching shoes!

I want a pair of hunters so badly, since we get so much rain here. You look adorable, you totally dressed them up.

Dresses and skirts are so you so keep wearing what you love. I love this entire monochromatic look. And I agree when layered properly and with thick tights plus warm boots, dresses and skirts work for Midwestern Winters, too. Love your boots btw.

P.S. Did you get my e-mail? Could you please get back at me when you can? Thank you so much.

Cute look! I love hunter boots! I wish I could make more use of mine but it’s too hot here in Hawaii. Have a great week!

I love the proportion of the coat to skirt! Such a lovely look! And yep, tall socks definitely come in handy to warm up your legs, haha.
