Behind the Brand: Tink + Tiger

If there’s one trend I’m on board with, it’s pajamas as day wear. But there’s one caveat. It needs to be as chic as the collection from Tink + Tiger. Based in Charleston, designer Amanda Greeley recently launched her collection to give women a sophisticated alternative to sleepwear—and the silk pyjama shirt doesn’t need to be saved for the bedroom. Throw it over a pair of jeans, add a menswear-inspired loafer and you have yourself a smart ensemble for a relaxed weekend brunch.

Behind the Brand: Lauren Cecchi

I’ve never been one for an embellished day bag. A bright color, certainly, but fussy zippers and tassels and studs just don’t do it for me. That’s why I find the collection by up-and-comer Lauren Cecchi so appealing. Her elegant handbags are timeless investment pieces manufactured in the heart of NYC. (The leather comes from a tannery upstate and the bags and hardware are manufactured in the city.) There are three sizes to choose from in multiple colors and you can select the hardware finish that suits you best. Personally, I’m all about the white Sorella handbag with silver hardware. Is there anything more chic for warm weather?

Behind the Brand: Megan Hess

Megan Hess’ illustrations celebrate femininity with a body of work that captures the allure of fashion, the elegance of women wearing the clothes and, at times, the striking interiors inspired by those designs. It’s no wonder that clients such as Chanel, Dior, Tiffany & Co. and Vogue have flocked to her! I’m most drawn to the illustrations rich with turquoise-blue hues: The Chic Hotelier, The Luxurious Spa and the supple Italian Riviera silk scarf.

Behind the Brand: Leslie Tessler

The crisp autumn air calls for none other than a gorgeous Leslie Tessler cape (and perhaps a mug of hot apple cider). Founded in 2011, Leslie incorporates Peruvian alpaca, Italian cashmere, and French woven silk into her line to create luxurious, heirloom-quality creations. I fancy the fuchsia cape to wear with matching lipstick and leopard flats (what else?), but I urge you to explore the rest of her collection online.

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.

While it claims to be the most haunted place in Europe and is dubbed the city of a thousand ghosts, we only encountered the wire-mesh sculptures of Ghosts in the Gardens (@the_york_bid) and the family of souvenir ghosts I brought home from @yorkghostmerchants.
