Bauble of the Week

January 4, 2015 by jessica

If there’s an item of jewelry that epitomizes spring’s 1970s revival, it’s the candy-colored Plexiglas cuff by Valentino. It’s probably doesn’t come as a surprise that the psychedelic collection was inspired by the brand’s 1973 archive. Groovy! Of course, I wouldn’t spent over $600 on a plastic bracelet. I scoured eBay and found a similar vintage version for $135.

Those are very fun pieces, though I’m happy to leave the plastic bracelets to the kids. Especially for $600, and even for $135!

I definitely agree. I just thought they were fun, especially with ’70s trends coming back in full force.

That’s such a fun accessories, and unlike anything I’ve come across before!! I can see it being perfect for spring.

Re the Everlane tee: I really like them, I have a LOT. I normally buy the men’s because they’re a little looser but the last few I got were women’s and they’re great too. Nice and soft. The heather gray particularly so 🙂

Gah, I love these but not for $600. That’s half my yearly budget (lol!) Thanks for the comment on my post, I will say that it helps that I work from home and have to wear a “uniform” for work when I go in (khakis or jeans with a company polo – ugh, plain jane texile plant life). There would be no way I could only do $1200 a year if I was back in an office. In fact if I had to go back to an office now I might have to spend $1200 just to get up to speed 😉

You do textile design, right? I’m sure wearing khakis and a polo is torture! 😉

Yep! But right now I’m doing sheets and towels for hotels, so it’s all white and kind of boring anyway (more technical stuff than design stuff) so the uniform kind of fits the job at the moment – lol! I miss color stories and fun patterns!

These are gorgeous! But wow, that price tag is giving me sticker shock. If I scratched it I would freak out.
