I purchased this ring from Karen Hsiang not longer after featuring her in a “Behind the Baubles” post. Trust me, the sensual curves of her designs are even prettier in person! I’ve been wearing it nearly everyday and I especially adore how it looks stacked with the Cynthia Jones ring below.
Giveaway: Chloe + Isabel Necklace
My favorites from Chloe + Isabel’s Valentine’s Day collection are the dainty sterling silver pieces: heart and arrow rings, mismatched earrings and a delicate arrow necklace. I’m particularly fond of the Cupid’s arrow. It’s romantic without being saccharine and makes for a lovely everyday piece long after Valentine’s Day is over.
And as a little Valentine’s gift for you, one lucky gal will win an arrow necklace of her own! Good luck!
This giveaway is open to U.S. residents.
The Verdict is In
I had fantasized about these shoes since I first saw them on the Tory Burch website and had a laundry list of items I could wear them with: that elusive white summer dress, white shorts and a blouse, black cigarette pants and a cozy cashmere sweater…
So, you can imagine how disappointed I am to send them back to Shopbop. I purchased my normal size 7 after reading numerous “true to size” fit recommendations only to find that they’re huge. (I kept checking the box to make sure that they sent the right pair.) I wrestled with ordering them again in a 6 and a 6.5 to see if either of those would work, but if I’m being honest, they’re not worth $300. I’ll give it another shot if they go on sale for 40% off (maybe I’ll even go for the striped pair). Until then, I ordered these. Apparently I’m just itching for a pointed toe and an ankle strap.

Postcards from D.C.
It dawned on me that I never did share photos from our most recent excursion to D.C. (aside from a few Instagrams here). We went over Labor Day and, in truth, we didn’t do too much. It was our third trip to the capital in as many years, so we took the opportunity to aimlessly wander the neighborhoods, enjoy daytime cocktails and pop into the zoo. But the most memorable part of the trip was convincing Dave to paddle boat with me in Tidal Basin. It was terribly humid that day, my life preserver was damp with the previous boaters sweat and I didn’t anticipate how difficult paddle boating really is! (Dave kept kneeing himself in the chest because the boats aren’t exactly ideal for anyone over my height at 5’ 7”.) We made it close enough to snap the photo above before giving up and calling an Uber to take us to Churchkey, my favorite beer bar in the city.
