My favorite planner is back for another year — and now in a pretty shade of forest green.

The variegated shades of green and yellow on this faux stem make it pass as real from a distance.

This sweater is the most perfect shade of warm brown.

Margaux launched a new style of ballet flats with a squared toe. I love the green satin pair. My size is on backorder, so I have some time to think about them.

We need a new dresser and this is the first one to catch my eye. Isn’t it gorgeous?

AT HOME

I can’t stop thinking about the prosciutto and melon appetizer we had in Nice. It was similar to this one with salad greens, but had pomegranates, nuts, and figs in the mix, too.

How to hand wash your clothes correctly.

I recently started following Madeline Shaw on Instagram. I love her cheerful home style, and especially this wallpaper. (I love the wallpaper so much that I’m thinking about it as a jumping off point to designing our office, which has been fairly neglected.)

One-pan recipes for busy nights.

I’m loving this vintage-inspired colorful home.

ODDS & ENDS

Here’s what’s coming to the TV screen this fall.

An insider’s guide to Portland, Maine.

27 novels coming out this fall.

The tradition of eating raclette cheese in Switzerland.

ODDS & ENDS

Beach vacations at the Great Lakes.

Millennials are changing what 40 looks like.

The rise, fall, and return of the American porch.

An easy way to feel more organized.

If this home isn’t inspiration for transforming a white box into a personality-filled space, I don’t know what is.

The best oat milk.

SHOP

Clare V.’s iconic bag now comes in a woven navy leather.

I’m loving the vintage-inspired color combination of this cardigan.

A splurge-y ring that caught my eye.

Denim Nikes.

I stumbled across this brand that makes baseball caps that look like well-worn favorites.

Open Tabs: What to Watch, 36 Hours in Normandy, Better Posture & More

August 25, 2025 by jessica

TRAVEL

Snapshots from our recent trip to Philadelphia.

Whenever I travel, I like to bring a variety of over-the-counter medication in case I come down with a cold or indigestion. This pill organizer is perfect for keeping everything corralled and eliminating the need to bring all of those original boxes along. (Necessary caveat: make sure the country you’re entering doesn’t require the original label on medication!)

36 Hours in Normandy, France

WATCH

I can’t wait for The Thursday Murder Club movie! It comes out this week. The book was so charming.

Season 4 of The Morning Show is on the horizon, too!

I still haven’t gotten around to watching the final season of And Just Like That…, although I’ve seen plenty of spoilers to know it’s not great. However, I’m still looking forward to seeing it knowing that Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King gave Carrie a perfect ending.

ODDS & ENDS

Loving this faux suede shift dress with the buttons down the sides.

16 tropical drinks for the last few weeks of summer.

Dress up your ponytail.

These awning-stripe pillow cases are too good.

7 Pilates moves for better posture.

Open Tabs: The Best Travel Toiletry Bag, An Easy Plum Torte, A Wood Conditioner That Works & More!

August 18, 2025 by jessica

WEAR

Barn jackets are still trending this year. Here’s a great option if you didn’t get one in 2024.

A new pattern at Boden to love.

Seven trends for fall 2025.

I bought this sweater during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s beautiful and will undoubtedly be on repeat this fall.

Two necklaces caught my eye this week: this modern CZ pendant and this beaded strand.

TABLETOP

I made this plum torte over the weekend. It’s so simple and absolutely incredible. My plums were on the tart side and it was still delicious.

Another recent recipe is this one for buldak. Don’t skip the Korean rice cakes; they add a nice, chewy texture to the dish.

Have an abundance of zucchini? Make mini fritters!

“Salad cakes” are having a culinary moment.

ODDS & ENDS

This toiletry bag really is worth the hype. It opens flat so you can actually find everything inside and there’s a clear zippered pouch to keep smaller items organized.

Pottery Barn’s Halloween ghosts are back for a third year. They’ve sold out the past two years, so don’t wait to place an order if you’re considering them.

Who knew a pink kitchen could look so elegant?

This wood polish and conditioner did a great job of restoring our banister, including hiding a water spot that’s been there since we moved in. I wish I took before-and-after photos.

Open Tabs: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks, Munich Travel Guide, Tomato Recipes & More!

July 28, 2025 by jessica

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It doesn’t feel like fall should be right around the corner, but the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here to tell us otherwise. The discounts on new-season items ends on Sunday, Aug. 3. Here are my picks:

  • Maison Margiela fragrance sets: I wear Beach Walk frequently and this is a great deal for the full-size bottle and travel size, and there are two trios of travel sprays in warm fragrances and fresh scents.
  • A classic pair of hoop earrings in an updated, chunky shape.
  • I’m looking for a new pair of joggers for long-haul flights. I might try these.
  • I have these shoes in multiple colors, including the “grain” hue that’s currently on sale.
  • A weekender bag. I love the tan as well as the green.
  • This sweater looks like something I’d end up reaching for all season for both work and weekends.
  • Slingback Mary Janes.
  • If you’ve had a Le Creuset on your wish list, there’s a 4.5-quart one and a 2.75-quart one that’s part of the sale. (I have the 2.75-quart size and it’s great for most things, but I’ve been thinking about getting a larger one for braised meats as I’ve been having liquid boil over in the oven.)
ODDS & ENDS

Remember when the trend was to embroider a tongue-in-cheek phrase on L.L. Bean’s Boat and Tote? Well, the iconic tote bag is back in another iteration.

I’m drawn to the combination of a light blue or periwinkle shade with burgundy, and it looks like the color combination is making an appearance more readily lately. My favorites so far are a striped hand towel and a maxi-style shirtdress.

This pool-inspired floor is the best tilework I’ve ever seen.

Speaking of swimming, you can now take a dip in the Seine River.

After carrying micro bags for so long, we’re trending in the opposite direction with a BAB.

43 tomato recipes to make this summer.

Munich is so much more than Oktoberfest. (Although, if you’re heading to the festival for the first time, you can read my guide.)
