I love these tips! I’m not going to a fancy dinner this year, we are just having some people over. I love these tips though! The thing about dressing up a basic is so true! Sometimes a simple black dress or sweater and leggings with some great jewelry will look better than an overly sparkley/sequin outfit.

Such great tips! I especially agree with the dressed up basics being far better than cheap party clothes – these seems to be such a proliferation of cheap-looking gold, sequined, lace and generally over-the-top party wear these days! I just don’t get it. How about accessorizing a simple LBD instead? (Sorry for the blabbering, pet peeve :-))
