Behind the Baubles: Lillot
You know how I’ve been obsessed with this season’s classic-meets-modern pearl jewelry? Designer Liliam Higa has it mastered. And it seems a penchant for jewels runs in her family. Liliam grew up surrounded by gemstones at her father’s wholesale store in São Paulo, Brazil. After studying fashion design at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, Liliam moved to New York City to launch her career. She began by styling for photographers and creating accessories to use at shoots, then worked for Lulu Frost before immersing herself in the jewelry industry to launch Lillot. All of her pieces are made in NYC and they’re actually quite affordable. My favorite item, the Brasilia ring is only $60.
Shop It: Brasilia Ring (my favorite!), $60 // Brasilia Bracelet, $135 // Niteroi Bracelet, $159 // Long Trasso Necklace, $175 // Arco Ring, $60 // Planalto Earrings, $63 // Eyes Cuff Bracelet, $285

In the Details
I knew Jennifer of Frippery Vintage would find incredible pieces when she went globetrotting to Italy in search of treasures for her shop, but I didn’t expect her to find the most jaw dropping vintage cocktail ring I’ve ever seen. Two Instagram photos later (here and here), I knew I had to add the gobstopper-size bauble to my collection. It’s everything I love about vintage costume jewelry: brightly colored, oversize, and I won’t see it on someone else. (But if I do spot a lookalike, I’ll know the owner has excellent taste.)

Bauble of the Week
I included these Tory Burch earrings in a recent “Currently Coveting” post and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the bold ’60s vibe since. They’re a carefree way to add a bit of glamour to even your most casual looks next season.
Loving Lately
Lately, I’m loving:
- This Lele Sadoughi necklace. Lele was my very first “Behind the Baubles” interviewee and I’ve been obsessed with her jewels ever since. I still can’t believe I pulled the trigger.
- A pair of $6 knock-offs of Dior’s double pearl earrings. Obviously I’d prefer the original, but I’ll happily settle on the pair that costs less than lunch.
- Aquaphor. How have I been without this miracle worker for so long?! Winter leaves my skin dry, chapped and cracked and this balm immediately soothed and repaired the problem areas.
- Fit and flare dresses. I’m keeping an eye out for one to wear on repeat this spring. So far, I’ve narrowed it down to this J.Crew dress in “haven blue” (but the sheen of the fabric might be too fancy for daytime wear), a Club Monaco dress in light pink (I like the placement of the seams and the v-shaped back), or this French Connection dress in poppy (I’m unsure about the pseudo cap sleeves).
