I couldn’t resist a generous offer from Hotel Lincoln to spend a couple of nights in The Windy City next weekend. We’re planning to snap touristy photos at The Bean, go on the Ferris wheel, dine at The J. Parker, take an architecture boat tour and try a few new-to-me beers at The Bad Apple. What else should we add to our must-do list?
Friday Find Under $50
I love Samudra’s clutches, but I can’t justify spending $65 on a trendy piece of canvas. This pouch from Kate Spade Saturday has the same photo-print appeal for just $25. Use it as a casual clutch this summer, then retire it to your beach bag next year. (There’s also a cloud-print version.)
It also reminds me of Gray Malin’s photography. Have you seen the men’s swim trunks with his prints? So good.
Currently Coveting
Right now, I’m coveting:
Easy, Breezy
As much as I’d like to be an effortless beauty in the summer, barely glistening as the humidity skyrockets, I’m not. I’m usually preoccupied with my lifeless hair (which, by the way, is curled in that photo) and slathering on sunscreen in fear of irreparable sun damage. And then I discovered this tunic. Who knew that putting on more fabric would be cooler than itty bitty tank tops? Lilly Pulitzer, that’s who.
In other news, the Shoshanna white dress I hoped would be “the one” didn’t work out. The shape was lovely, but the fabric wrinkled awkwardly on the sides of my chest. It would look better on a gal with more up top to fill it out.

Lately, I’m Loving…
…a relaxing stop at the Great Dane beer garden in downtown Madison. After years of living here, I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t even know about this oasis until Dave mentioned it. It was a welcome way to refuel during last weekend’s Art Fair on the Square.
