***If he already has an Apple Watch, opt for a watch strap. If the strap isn’t specifically made for an Apple Watch, it will need an adapter like this one, which I purchased for Dave and gave to him early. (I’m terrible with surprises.) I read a lot of reviews for adapters, so don’t waste your time researching other options.
