Behind the Baubles: Lionette by Noa Sade

Noa Sade (right) and Vanessa Lee instantly bonded when they first met in 2008. Pairing Noa’s design talents with Vanessa’s expertise as a former fashion buyer, the duo launched Lionette by Noa Sade the following year creating one showstopper after another. While it’s hard to choose a favorite with so many unique designs (even microphone gloves!), the Gizele necklace tops my list. It would look as fabulous on a tropical getaway as it would under a jacket at work.

Loving Lately

Lately, I’m loving:

This vintage brass elephant Dave tucked in my Christmas stocking. I’m using it as a ring holder on my dresser. (There are a lot of options on eBay. Don’t be put off by the dingy ones; brass cleaner works wonders.)
The polka dot clutch I won from Kayu’s Instagram giveaway. Now I’m even more anxious for the weather to warm up. (Today’s forecast has wind chills down to -50 degrees. Days like this make me thankful I don’t own a dog that needs to be walked. You’ll find me snuggled up in piles of blankets with the cat with absolutely no intention of stepping foot outdoors.)

Bauble of the Week

After purchasing a Tory Burch necklace* and a Karen Hsiang ring in December, I need to hold off on adding another piece to my jewelry box. However, I’m bookmarking this gorgeous ring for when the urge strikes. I can’t resist an unconventional way to wear pearls.

*I ordered it through Net-a-Porter for 70% off, but it arrived badly damaged. They were able to locate another one through their Asian store. Hopefully the new one arrives safely from Hong Kong.

Behind the Baubles: Sarah Magid

Based in NYC, jewelry designer Sarah Magid has 15 years of experience designing for brands like Henri Bendel, Coach, J.Crew, and Etienne Aigner—but I think we can all be grateful that she eventually branched out on her own. She masterfully mixes brightly colored stones with sculptural metalwork to create pieces that can best be described as art. (Heck, I’m just as crazy for those pink crazy lace studs as I am for the larger jewels.)
