The Hundred Dresses: The Most Iconic Styles of Our Time takes a wonderful tongue-in-cheek approach to chronicling history’s most memorable frocks. A variety of classic styles (the wrap) and pop culture icons (Bjork’s swan dress) are covered by author and fellow blogger Erin McKean. McKean’s signature wit pairs beautifully with Donna Mehalko’s fashion illustrations making for a delightful – and educational – trip down fashion’s memory lane.

I was skeptical of silver shoes at first. As someone who went to high school in the ’90s, strappy silver sandals were the thing to wear to formal dances and I certainly didn’t want to relive those memories. However, I still purchased a pair of silver flats from Banana Republic on a whim. I never would have guessed they would become my most-loved pair of shoes this summer.
