One Dress, Four Ways

I recently purchased this $49 little black dress and I’ve been overjoyed with how versatile it’s been. I’ve already worn it to a cocktail event, to work, and I’ve been playing dress up with my new gingham clutch (a steal at Target!) while dreaming of warmer weather to wear it in! I’ve put together four outfit ideas for styling this dress in the coming months, and kept the colors neutral because there’s a good chance you already have similar basics in your closet. One quick note about the fit: the dress runs true to size if you have slimmer hips. I went up a size to give myself a more comfortable, looser fit around my hips and thighs.

Target Launches New Home Line: Opalhouse

On April 8, Target will launch a new home line with “bold colors, optimistic prints and tons of texture.” The new line, Opalhouse, will have over 1,300 pieces with most priced at $30 or under that recall far-flung destinations for the person looking to outfit her home with an eclectic mix of globally influenced design and elevated details. For example, the wallpaper featured above was inspired by a bird that Target’s design team spotted in Lisbon coupled with flowers found near a market in Paris. While riding on a train to their next destination, a few sketches and watercolor eventually became the design for the wallpaper that will be part of the Opalhouse collection.

As if I needed another reason to turn to Target while working on our house! The chair below is my favorite piece from the collection and I can’t wait to snag two to eventually use in our sun room. And if you’re into that round pillow below, but don’t want to wait, you can snag a similar one at Urban Outfitters. What do you think about the new collection?

I think we need to slow our roll unless we want to spend all of next week eating salad and exercising! What Fits Inside the Gucci Small Marmont Bag?

When I posted a snapshot of my beloved new bag on Instagram last week, I had a few people ask me what fits inside. So, I thought I’d do a quick post with my daily essentials so you can see if this purse is the right size for you.

I don’t carry many items with me on the regular, so the small GG Marmont shoulder bag is perfect for holding all of my essentials with plenty of room to spare. You’ll always find me toting around the following:

Sunglasses
Credit card case with a few dollar stuffed inside in lieu of a full wallet
Mirror
iPhone
Phone charger (on the weekends, but not the work week)
Lipstick
Not pictured: inhaler, tissues, floss, mini hair brush

(Before we move on, though, I must sing praises about this phone charger. It can fully charge an iPhone five times before its battery depletes. The relatively slim profile makes it easy to carry around all day, especially when you’re on vacation. Plus, you can plug in two phones at once.)

I put my sunglasses in their bulky case and there’s still room at the top of the purse for extra items. As I mentioned, I’m not one to bring a large wallet with me. If you are, this Kate Spade billfold technically fits inside, but you won’t be able to hold much else and you’ll likely prefer a larger bag. If you pare down your essentials like I do, then it’s an excellent option that feels spacious. Let me know if you have any questions about the size.
