Ever since I came across this image on Pinterest, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of owning a magenta fur scarf. And then I came across this photo and decided any bright, colorful, or patterned fur scarf would do just fine! I’ve been scouring my favorite online haunts to find just the right one. This striped scarf from J.Crew is undoubtedly my favorite one yet. It’s basically seafarer-meets-snowbunny in the best way possible. For something more subtle — and wallet-friendly — try the electric-blue stripes on this otherwise neutral snood at Urban Outfitters. I normally wear a black peacoat or emerald cocoon coat in the winter, making this scarf irresistibly versatile. And, while this scarf isn’t colorful, I’m all about the oversize “faux” statement piece.
Scroll through the slideshow to shop 15 of the best colorful faux fur scarves, all under $200. (Don’t fret if some of the prices show up higher when you hover over the slideshow. If you click through, you’ll see that those are on sale.)

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I almost made it through November without purchasing anything … and then Anthropologie offered an additional 25% off all dresses and this little number made its way home to me. I fell in love with it when I tried it on in October, but couldn’t justify spending full price on yet another dress. (I swear, my side of the closet is filled to the brim with dresses!) I loved the exaggerated swing shape, though, and was delighted to snag it on sale. Our holiday gatherings this year will be on the casual side, so I’ll probably wear this dress to some of the festivities. However, I’m most excited to tuck it away for spring and wear it with bare legs, sandals, and my colorful Tory Burch tote (it’s no longer available, but this one is even prettier).
Dress: Maeve | Necklace: c/o Ben-Amun (smaller version) | Bracelet: Melinda Maria (old; here’s a budget-friendly alternative) | Bag: Tory Burch (old; love this one) | Tights: Calvin Klein | Shoes: Ferragamo c/o Shopbop | Lips: Stila “Bella”
OBSERVATIONS
I almost went an entire month without purchasing clothing or accessories for myself. For a solid two weeks, I was creative and content with my wardrobe, taking note of my wardrobe MVPs (that’s “Most Versatile Pieces,” which is fodder for a blog post coming soon). I found myself reaching for this black dress and this pendant all of the time.
…and then I faltered.
Anthropologie was offering an additional 25% off dresses, and the siren song of this dress was too strong to resist. I had tried it on last month and regretted putting it back on the rack. It’s short, flirty, and wonderfully girly. I needed a ride-along item to qualify for free shipping (obviously) and chose this dress in orange (photo here). Despite the glowing reviews, I didn’t expect to love the high neckline and long hemline. But, I do. It’s like nothing else in my closet.
…and then Black Friday happened.
I ordered a Monica Vinader ring and a pair of pink pumps. Those purchases haven’t arrived yet, so I’ll include them in December’s recap. There’s always a chance they’ll make a return trip to the retailer.

GIFTS FROM DAVE
We stopped at Uniqlo when we were in Chicago and Dave generously added my selections to his purchase.
GIFTED
As always, I want to be transparent about what I’ve received from companies for review or as part of a collaboration. I’m selective about the pieces I accept and will only work with companies I feel good about recommending.

Honestly, I thought today was going to be spent in pajamas (these) as I overspent on today’s amazing sales. That’s not what happened. Instead, I stood in line for Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout and a few of its varieties. For three hours. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fantastic, but still. Three. Hours. I started to get a little stir crazy after the 90-minute mark and started perusing Black Friday deals, culminating in the purchase of this Monica Vinader ring. Did you find anything for yourself this morning?
Now, it’s time to worry about the others on my shopping list. Below, you’ll find picks from some of my favorite sales, along with a list of other notable deals. I’ll continue to add to the list throughout the weekend!
Spend $250 or more at Tory Burch and take 30% off with code THANKS. Even though I promised I wouldn’t buy anything else for myself on Black Friday, I have a feeling that this sale is going to do me in. I can’t help but adore this cheerful yellow backpack, this flattering swimsuit, and this beautiful tunic.
Take 30% off everything at ASOS with code BLESSED through Nov. 30! It’s a fantastic opportunity to pick out your holiday dresses and accessories at a discount. I’m crazy about the embellishments on this navy dress. If you really want something that will stand out from the crowd, this fringe sequin number will do the trick. Of course, that’s a lot of look for most people — myself included! This champagne metallic dress still has shimmer without being over-the-top, and this beautiful embroidered dress would win anyone over. No matter which dress you choose, I highly recommend this disco ball clutch.
Now through Nov. 29, you can take 20% off everything at Jonathan Adler with code TGIBF. This splatter-paint dish is a great gift for a jewelry lover to place her rings at night. I also love this flirty pillow and this darling bird dish, even if it is ultra expensive. Mini zebra trays make great — and affordable — options to have on-hand for impromptu gift giving.
Take 25% off everything at Anthropologie with code SHOPTOIT through Nov. 29. Seize the opportunity to pick out my holiday ensemble for yourself! (I’m actually wearing this LBD with flats and sparkly jewelry.) For others? This vintage-inspired, swan-topped cocktail shaker would be perfect for a budding mixologist’s bar cart. A cozy throw would delight the homebodies. Don’t forget the little ones on your list with a collection of fairy tales.
