Spring is in the Air

I refused to wear a jacket on Saturday, even though the temperature barely rose above 40 degrees. It was dry, the snow was mostly melted, and it was sunny. That and I’m tired of wearing winter coats. So, I threw on my favorite merino wool sweater that I’ve had for four years now (and actually wore when I met Dave for the first time) and a pair of, gasp, jeans. For the record, I hate jeans. I don’t think they’re comfortable or particularly flattering, but I figured it was time to buy a pair for weekends when I don’t want to wear a skirt or black pants. I went to Old Navy after seeing this pair of jeans on Lydia. I see the appeal of the jegging-like material, but they looked terrible on me. I ended up going with the skinny “Sweetheart” style. Paired with some of my favorite spring accessories–including daisy earrings that you can win tomorrow–it made for a relaxed ensemble for running errands and indulging in afternoon drinks.

  3. You look so good in them though, you should try a pair of paige denim (they fit amazing) or to save try the gap resolution skinny (it has a nice stretch). Love your earrings.

  11. Love this outfit! Jeans suit you! You just have to find the right style/fabric and they’ll be super comfortable! I could sleep in some of my jeans, haha. But I’m addicted to them so maybe it’s just because I’m so used to it.

  18. Love it! I hate wearing jeans, I only own one pair and I only wear them when nothing else is appropriate! They’re just so restricting, I vastly prefer skirts and dresses. I love your bag and earrings, they’re so funa nd so summer-ready! Great post!

  25. It would be so nice to get above 40! But Until then I think jeans are good to fall back on. I have to admit I’ve gone through so many phases of saying I wouldn’t wear something. Shorts, stripes, high heels, and in the end I’ve decided that I love having all those things in my wardrobe rotation. I’m glad you decided to test the waters with denim and again, and that pair does look fabulous on you!
