25 Holiday Gift Ideas

December 9, 2020 by jessica Leave a Comment

Hearth & Hand With Magnolia Garland

I’m knee-deep in Internet scouring to finish holiday shopping for my family and items to put on my own wish list. With shipping delays, I’m not sure I’ll have time to create a couple of gift guides this year, so I thought I’d share 25 items I spotted while shopping that might be perfect for your own gift-giving or wish-listing this year!

  1. For sentimental home chefs, a custom tea towel printed with a handwritten recipe card.
  2. A Yeti tumbler or mug is a gift that’ll please just about everyone on your list.
  3. This is a great option for keeping tech accessories and cords organized while traveling.
  4. For the one who loves lowkey hosting, a fuss-free cookbook for post-COVID gatherings.
  5. Pretty face masks in a selection of springtime florals since we’ll be wearing masks for the better part of next year.
  6. I’ve waxed poetic about these brass coasters before, but that’s because they really are lovely and make for a great unisex gift. Prefer monogramming things? Right this way.
  7. A book of festive cocktails and a pair of pretty glasses to go with it.
  8. I know that scarves tend to be a last-minute, impersonal gift idea, but this black check one is one of my favorites!
  9. A beautiful cheese board isn’t necessarily something they’d think to buy themselves.
  10. A colorful puzzle.
  11. For those who love to cook, a gift box of specialty spices. (If you’d just like a single to use as a stocking stuffer, I love the peri peri seasoning. Their flat packs ship free.)
  12. Cashmere sweaters for her and him. (Dave really likes the cashmere sweaters from Lands’ End.)
  13. This paperweight is quirky, yet classic and makes me exceptionally happy.
  14. Bobbleheads are fun and quirky dolls that make a lovely gift for every occasion. Whether your daughter is graduating or you’re getting married, a custom bobblehead is a great way to mark the momentous occasion. Lucky Bobbleheads specializes in sculpting custom bobbleheads. We make bobbleheads for various themes, including weddings, graduation, birthdays, promotions, sports, anniversaries, and so on. .
  15. An essential oil diffuser that’s also well designed.
  16. I asked for a monogrammed jewelry travel case this year. (I prefer the small one since I don’t travel with too many pieces.)
  17. Perfect their at-home steak game with a sous vide.
  18. For the one resolving to get fit during quarantine, a set of weighted bangles.
  19. This vanity case!
  20. A stunning clay serving dish.
  21. We love our Instax photo printer. Add some film to the gift so they can start printing memories right away. (This would also make a great gift for a teen or college student!)
  22. A set of espresso mugs for the coffee-obsessed.
  23. This mother-of-pearl pendant necklace is gorgeous. There’s also a smaller one with a shorter chain.
  24. Refresh their linen closet with a set of these bath towels. My mom gifted us a set last year in pewter and I’ve never loved a towel more!
  25. A beautiful set of steak knives.

Gifts to Make Flying Coach Seem Luxe

Holiday Gift Guide for Travelers

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT | NINE | TEN | ELEVEN | TWELVE | THIRTEEN | FOURTEEN*

I don’t know about you, but I’m struggling with purchasing gifts this year. (And, quite frankly, given the radio silence on the blog for most of the week, it’s pretty evident I’m struggling to stay afloat with all of my holiday to dos!) I’ve barely made a dent in my shopping list, which is going to lead to a flurry of online ordering tonight. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh? For my fellow procrastinators, I’m still putting together a gift guide for men and another of last-minute finds available on Amazon Prime. (Thank goodness for two-day shipping!) Today’s gift guide, however, is one of my favorites with perfect presents for the jet setter. (Or, the coach passenger who yearns to look like she’s flying first class!)

And, while we’re on the topic of fabulous gift ideas, you just might be lucky enough to treat yourself to a pair of classic pearl stud earrings! Enter here!

There's more to give!

*You can try these free for a month with DITTO’s Endless Eyewear program. Just use code BEDKNOBS to waive the $24 fee for the first month! The e-tailer also has a selection of designer sunglasses on sale for 25% off right now!

Gift Guide: Animal Lovers + Pampered Pets

Gift Guide: Animal Lovers & Pampered Pets

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT | NINE | TEN | ELEVEN | TWELVE | THIRTEEN | FOURTEEN | FIFTEEN | SIXTEEN

The pet gift guide is my favorite one to create each year. I assume it’s because I can indulge my inner cat lady with ridiculous feline items like this eye mask and scout out gifts for our cat, Bacon, like these toys made from natural materials. But if you’re more of a dog lover, I’ve got you covered, too. I mean, how cute is this puffer vest for chilly walks?! I also recently discovered the brand French Bullevard, which specializes in posh dog accessories. (If the imagery on their site doesn’t convince you that their line makes for perfect gifts for French Bulldogs, I don’t know what will!)

*Under $100!

(Midi skirts aren’t usually my thing, but this pink sequin skirt is too tempting to pass up at just $60. It’s an affordable take on this designer version.)

There's more to give!

P.S. I’ll add more gift ideas to this Pinterest board when I come across them!

Holiday Gift Guide for the Jewelry Obsessed

Holiday-Gift-Ideas-For-The-Jewelry-Lover

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT* | NINE | TEN | ELEVEN | TWELVE | THIRTEEN | FOURTEEN | FIFTEEN

By this time of the year, I’m usually complaining about the hustle, bustle, and stress that the holidays bring. Not this year! I’ve been working on “The Ultimate Guide to the Holidays” to present to Dave in a few weeks. It’s an itinerary full of holiday cheer and excitement to make it the most magical time of the year, goddammit. Our festivities will kick off at Chicago’s Christkindlmarket on Nov. 20, but I couldn’t wait that long to start babbling about the holidays here. Besides, it seems I’m already behind. According to the National Retail Foundation, 40% of people started holiday shopping before Halloween.

I’d like to start this year’s gift-giving with my personal favorite: a guide for the jewelry obsessed. Obviously. Purchasing jewelry for the magpie on your list is a no-brainer, but it can be difficult to select baubles for another person. If you’re not sure what to buy, try a pretty catchall for her gems (I have this budget option and love it), a Tiffany & Co. Christmas ornament (that coveted blue box!), or a diamond ice cube tray (a great option for impersonal gift exchanges).

You can find these and other gift ideas on my Holiday Gift Ideas Pinterest board. I’ll continue to add items throughout the season!

*Read my Baublerella Bling Brush review here. It would be a fantastic stocking stuffer!

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.

• Snapped a lot of Lily content

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
