PACKING LIST | MIAMI

July 29, 2014 by jessica Leave a Comment

Hi guys! I’m Rachelle from pinksole.com, I live in South Florida and it is a MAJOR vacation hot spot. If you are heading to Miami, you can expect tons of sunshine, clear blue skies and pretty beaches that are perfect for a dip or just to work on your tan. It is extremely hot here, so pack accordingly.

  1. A light dress that can easily be dressed up or down, always bring a cardigan as most establishments will have the AC low because of the warm temperatures outside. Trust me do not wear anything with a high neck or long sleeves.
  2. I’m pretty sure they will be a lot of walking involved, so bring comfy sandals to do so in style.
  3. Short shorts are a staple in Miami, so pack your cutest tanks and tees to mix and match.
  4. That’s really a no brainer; the beach will be packed so with an awesome bathing suit like this one, you will be a show stopper.
  5. Last but not least bring a beach bag to hold your water (always have a bottle with you to stay hydrated), snacks, and more.

Thank you so much Jessica for having me and thank you guys for reading.

PACKING LIST | BOSTON

Today’s packing list for Boston comes from Tia of Big City Tyro:

A Floridian for most of my life, I was excited to experience a real “up north” spring during my first year of college. Unfortunately, Boston ended up having an abnormally long winter this year and we still had some snow in late April. But, just when I thought spring was a myth, the city started to bloom. The grass was green again, the flowers were opening, and I even spotted some baby rabbits in the park. While I missed out on enjoying most of spring this year, I took every opportunity to get outside and explore the city before I left.

Whether admiring the foliage at the Boston Public Garden, eating a lobstah roll al fresco in the North End, or riding the Greenway Carousel by the Boston Harbor, this outfit is perfect for exploring the best seasonal sights that Boston has to offer.

PACKING LIST | TALLINN

July 25, 2014 by jessica Leave a Comment

Today’s packing list for Tallinn comes from Laura of Laura etc:

Tallinn, the capital of Estonia is small but beautiful city with a intact medieval Old Town and rich history.

Tallinn has everything you can want in a city break. Spend a weekend getting lost in the winding cobblestone streets built in the 14th century. Have lunch in one of the cozy courtyard cafes you will definitely stumble upon. Go for a drink at one of the funky hipster spots in reworked industrial areas or choose a delicious fine dining restaurant.

  1. Jacket: Evenings will get chilly in Tallinn and after spending a day flowing around in pastels adding a bit of edge to your outfit will immediately make the outfit different.
  2. Bag: The less stuff you have the better. This pretty cross body bag will leave your hands free but fit all the daily necessities.
  3. Dress: Walking in the Old Town sometimes feels like a fairytale or a  movie set so wearing a sweeping maxi is both suitable and comfortable.
  4. Jewelry: This “Fangs” necklace is delicate but with an attitude. The rock crystal necklace would look perfect paired with the maxi dress.
  5. Shoes: Cobblestones and heels don’t make a good match, so pack your flats.

After a season of shopping and curating gift guides, what are bloggers hoping to find under their own Christmas trees?

  1. Kendall of Kendall K.
“This holiday season I’m hoping for the Diana Mini camera with Flash! I love the ultra chic, vintage-like photos that this camera produces. Plus the charming body design, feels more like an accessory than a camera.”

  2. Lindley of The Flip Side
“The number one item on my wish list this Christmas is the Proenza PS1. I am really into structured bags right now, and I love the size of the medium PS1 and the way the gorgeous olive color pops the gold hardware. It will be the perfect replacement to my classic black Chanel!”
  3. Carrie of This Free Bird
“I’ve thought and thought and the truth is…I really DO want an iPad.  It’s terribly unoriginal and not that sentimental, but here’s the thing: we are nerds at heart.  We play an incredible amount of Scrabble and Boggle.  Last year my sister-in-law got an iPad for Christmas and when she handed it over, she had to pry it from our grip due to match upon rematch of Scrabble on the iPad.  So addicting! It would kind of be something for both of us. Only it would be mine. Just to be clear. Haha!”

  4. Jillian of Cornflake Dreams
“I adore these earrings! I’m usually a necklace or ring sort of girl so these would be the perfect everyday accessory to add to my jewelry box. I also love that the shop is in Portland! (Portland is the city where i got engaged so it will always have a special place in my heart.)”
  5. Jen of Her Waise Choice
“I wear my $3 gold Joe Fresh chain bracelet (see here) all the time and think it’s about time to get a slightly more upscale version (or layer it on)! I love Lauren Elan’s designs and the oversized clasp makes this piece extra special.”
  6. Lydia of Chic on the Cheap
“I am clearly obsessed with anything sporting exotic spots these days (its the new neutral!) and how amazing would this clutch look against my bright red wool coat? Now for some matching heels…”

  7. Lisa of The Sentimentalist
“As I’ve gotten to be more of an adult, I’ve noticed a serious lack of nice jewelry in my wardrobe. These earrings would be a classy and welcomed edition that could be dressed up or down.”
  8. Bre of BreBeauty
“NARS brushes are the epitome of luxury, and the limited edition brushes are no exception. This beautiful collection of handmade brushes will help create an endless array of looks for years to come. The gorgeous keepsake “bento” box the brushes are housed in is a treasure all on its own!”

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.

• Spent quality time with my favorite cat

• Biked for Pacificos, chips and quac, and tacos at @bandit.tacos

• Loved how the rain collected on the Lady’s Mantle I planted last year

• Dipped my toes (quite literally) into this year’s mesh shoe trend

• Snapped a lot of Lily content

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
