I really wanted to wear that sequin anchor tank yesterday, but there was no way I was putting plastic sequins on in 100-degree heat. Aside from a bit of dehydration, the fourth was pretty fun: gave myself a wonderfully obnoxious manicure, went to a neighborhood picnic, hung out in the pool and enjoyed our third fireworks display of the year.

Happy 4th of July!
Plenty of sparklers for tonight.
Today’s outfit contenders: a vintage necklace that belonged to my grandma and sailboat-print shorts.
Lightweight clothing in cool colors keep me somewhat tolerant of the heat wave (that and weekends in the pool). I don’t think I’ve ever gone this long with the same forecast before: no rain, moderate humidity and 90+ degrees … everyday.
