Bauble of the Week

July 1, 2012 by jessica Leave a Comment

bweek03

Next month, I’m adhering to a strict sartorial budget of $100. Now, should I spend that money on a handful of trendy items?  Or put it all toward a statement piece like this sculptural Tory Burch ring?

I didn’t think my closet would ever include anything resembling Hawaiian print, but this shirt was too fun to pass up.

Madison’s holiday weekend kicks off with a fireworks display on Saturday. (Note to self: buy sparklers.) Of course Independence Day is about more than a red, white and blue color scheme, but it is the perfect opportunity to wear such patriotic colors without having to disguise them as “nautical.”

  1. Striped Skirt, J.Crew, $130
  2. Sunglasses, Stella McCartney, $225
  3. Layered Star Necklace, Gorjana, $95
  4. Flower Ring, Kate Spade, $59.99
  5. Wedges, Madewell, $149.99
  6. Striped Top, Chinti and Parker, $130
  7. Purse, Kate Spade, $318
  8. Star Stud Earrings, Orelia, $8.29

It’s the Little Things

June 28, 2012 by jessica Leave a Comment

Finally purchasing this pair of Sigerson Morrison wedges (on sale!) after dreaming about them for months.

The pretty print on a Kendall K. dress (c/o).

A candle that smells like summer: pineapple, coconut, tangerine and vanilla (c/o Apothica).

Finishing our guest room has been a focus of ours Finishing our guest room has been a focus of ours this year, and the cute Teig Lamp from Schoolhouse is such a charming addition to the space. It’s named for the German word for “dough,” which is perfect for its soft, petite shape.

Find this and the other Schoolhouse items we’re using in the space here: https://www.shopltk.com/explore/bedknobsandbaubles/posts/e01ae8c9-38af-11f0-b5c2-0242ac11000b

(The lamp and circle pillow were gifted. I purchased the other items.)

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
