Kate Spade’s holiday collection was released last week and, as always, everything is so darn cute. There’s a champagne bottle coin purse, a floral-print scarf I’ll probably buy, and this unbelievable necklace. One look at the rhinestone ribbon put me in a festive mood. Bring on the egg nog, tinsel and Bing Crosby, STAT.
Onecklace Review
I’m a pretty firm believer that if you wore a trend the first time it was popular, you should probably stay away from it the second time around. It’s why I’ve been hesitant to wear a nameplate necklace again. No, I didn’t wear one when Carrie Bradshaw made it popular. I wore one when I was seven years old. I found the little 14” necklace when I was packing up my childhood bedroom and, with all sentimental pieces, I tucked it away for safekeeping.
When oNecklace asked if I’d be interested in featuring one of their name necklaces, I couldn’t bring myself to wear my first name on my collarbone again. Instead, I opted for a cheeky “Bonjour” necklace in the Alegro script.
Loving Lately
Lately, I’m loving:
- A chance to finally relax. After a year of planning and countless sleepless nights, our annual B2B expo went off without a hitch last Wednesday. Phew!
- The Jennifer Meyer for J.Crew bracelet featured above. I adored the pieces from the collaboration when it was released, but the price point was a bit high. I purchased the bracelet a few weeks ago when there was an additional 40% off the sale price. It’s quite beautiful in person and the cut glass has a glimmering, prism-like quality.
- Learning Spanish on Duolingo. Have you used the app?

Bauble of the Week
Over the last week, I’ve been admiring the work of L.A.-based designer Karen Hsiang—especially her collection of sensual, sculptural rings. I’m torn between the lateral ring (above) and the crevice ring. (If you’re a reader of Gem Gossip, you already know that you can use code “GEM GOSSIP” to take 30% off your purchase through Thanksgiving.)
Behind the Baubles: LeeMo Designs
When I raved about LeeMo Designs’ lightweight statement earrings earlier this week, you’ll remember that I featured her acrylic lasercut work. Now I’m excited to highlight the real foundation of her collection: beautiful, meticulously crafted origami earrings. One lucky lady will even win a pair of her own! Enter below to add a pair of the Ayano diamond drop earrings to your jewelry box.
