Pearls are back in full force for spring ’22 with everything from organic baroque pearls to traditional spheres set in non-traditional ways. I pre-ordered these drop earrings, which are very “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” from designer Chan Luu. I have another pair of the designer’s pearl earrings (seen here) that are one my most worn pairs and I’m confident the new pair will get as much love. And while I tend to go for more classic designs, I appreciate that some of you like more playful looks, so there’s some of that here too!

Bauble Bar Criselda Ball Drop Earrings

Who would have thought that Rebecca Ravenel’s oversize bauble earrings would cause such a stir among the fashion crowd with affordable lookalikes popping up everywhere? It probably shouldn’t have come as a surprise, of course, knowing that statement earrings are topping everyone’s must-have jewelry list and lightweight designs are a godsend for keeping our earlobes from drooping in old age! I’ve recently become obsessed with these Bauble Bar beauties — so much so that I keep looking for additional earrings with thread-wrapped baubles for my collection! Below are some of my favorites. Contrary to popular advice, I don’t mind investing in a trendy statement piece when it’s something so perfect for my closet that a cheaper alternative just won’t do. My standout was a YSL arty ring long before Yves was dropped from the name. $195 was a lot to pay for a metal and glass cocktail ring (now it’s $290), but it was “the one” and I still wear it regularly. A metallic clutch (or a lucite one, for that matter) is not that type of purchase for me. I’d rather experiment with this budget-friendly Zara version.
