Review: Ditto Endless Eyewear + Free Month Trial

September 4, 2015 by jessica 5 Comments

Ditto-Endless-Eyewear-Review-3

Have you ever yearned to have an endless wardrobe of sunglasses? Well, now you can, thanks to DITTO’s Endless Eyewear subscription service. For $19 a month, you can swap out your sunnies as often as you’d like with free shipping each way. (Or, you can keep prescription eyeglasses in constant rotation for $29 per month.) It’s a great way to try out designer sunglasses that you may curious about, like Karen Walker’s signature shades, a bejeweled Miu Miu pair, or a completely unexpected pair for Valentine’s Day.

HOW IT WORKS

After you sign up, pick out your favorite pair and the DITTO team will let you know if they’re ready to ship. In some cases, popular styles maybe temporarily unavailable and DITTO will notify you when they’re back in stock. You’ll receive your sunglasses in a few days. Wear them as often as you’d like before swapping them for another pair. Simply pick out the next pair online and ship the old pair back within five days of receiving the new style.

RECEIVE A FREE MONTH

You can try your first month free with code BEDKNOBS. I’m normally on the fence about subscription boxes (we all know how I felt about Try the World), but I think this one is worth trying out for at least the first month. Wearing a new pair of sunglasses for a couple of weeks will give you a better idea of whether or not they’re a good investment for you. It’s also just a fun way to freshen up your September outfit photos! I’ve been wearing this Paul Smith style for a couple of weeks and now I’m anxious to try something quirkier!

August Highlights

Highlights-August-2015

In Monday’s post, I mentioned that we didn’t have any plans for Labor Day weekend … well, now that’s changed. We’re heading to Washington, D.C.! A few months ago, we had actually talked about visiting the nation’s capital over the holiday weekend, but plans fell by the wayside when we decided to simply enjoy our Louisville jaunt instead of putting another trip on the calendar so soon. We’re also looking into a two- or three-week trip to Denmark next year, so extra money isn’t exactly in abundance around these parts! But who can pass up a cheap vacation package, especially when the flight is direct from Madison?! (It’s such a rare treat. We have so few direct flights here and usually drive to Milwaukee or Chicago to fly.) If we’ve been blog or Instagram buddies for awhile, you’ll know this is our fourth trip to D.C. We just love the city so much! I’m looking forward to dining at our favorite pizzeria, trying new beer bars, visiting museums and monuments, shopping at Eastern Market, and taking plenty of photos of the quaint neighborhoods. (I’ll be turning to Rosa’s blog for ideas!) Before I fully turn my attention to what’s to come, here are a few favorite moments and snapshots from August:

  • Took my most cliche blog photo yet. I love all of your suggestions on what I should have added to the pic! I knew I should have picked up some macarons and scattered open tubes of lipstick on the table. (Yes, the bag is a total Chloe knockoff. Read my thoughts on it here.)
  • Snapped photos of flowers at the Wisconsin State Capitol.
  • Enjoyed drinks with Fran! I was so excited to finally meet Fran in person when she was in Madison last month. I can’t believe how quickly the time passed when we were catching up over drinks at Madison’s darling new cocktail bar, Gib’s.
  • Began our five-hour drive to my parents’ house with a sugary breakfast.
  • Visited Michigan’s Lake Superior shoreline.
  • Found the prettiest turquoise wall for an outfit photo.
  • Saw acres of sunflowers at Pope Farm Conservancy.
  • Ditched sneakers in favor of pretty summer sandals — finally!
  • Tried a new pair of sunglasses, thanks to DITTO’s Endless Eyewear program. Endless Eyewear is a monthly subscription service that allows you to try out designer sunglasses for $19 per month. You can swap out your shades as often as you’d like, making it a great way to try out sunglasses before committing or to simply keep your look fresh. You can get your first month for free with code BEDKNOBS. (What better way to play dress up with Karen Walker’s signature shades?) Sign up here.

The Coveted

I may not be ready to wear fall clothing just yet, but I am eager to plan next season’s purchases. I mentioned that I was trying to stay away from impulsive purchases, but this shirtdress stole my heart. I love a loose silhouette for long days at the office and the tie neck detail is just the right amount of the ’70s trend. I’m also on the lookout for a pair of ankle boots and flared jeans (although, I’m almost positive I have a pair identical to these somewhere in my closet). Here’s what else I have my eye on:

  • A classic shift dress, updated with tie detailing at the sleeves.
  • Red nail polish for a classic manicure.
  • A mini bag for just the essentials.
  • A curious fox peeking above the brim of this knit hat.
  • A wool peacoat. Dave gave me one for Christmas last year and I wore it the rest of the winter.
  • A fuzzy buffalo plaid mini. I don’t know what it is about this skirt, but I think it’s utterly charming. Pair it with a slim knit top and sneakers for a grownup take on a school uniform.
  • Floral embellishments on a pair of d’Orsay heels. Wouldn’t they look great with a LBD and an olive green anorak?

It’s so nice to be home after a whirlwind week. It’s so nice to be home after a whirlwind week. We flew out to Philadelphia last Friday for a few days of exploring. It was our first time in the City of Brotherly Love and we loved every minute of it from the architecture to the restaurants, and most of all: the welcoming and friendly people. After that, we had one night at home before a flight to Denver to celebrate my cousin’s wedding. We got back to Madison late last night and have spent the day puttering around the house, getting caught up on laundry, grocery shopping, harvesting the season’s first tomatoes from the garden, and admiring just how much the hydrangeas have grown in the course of a week.
I always get a kick out of comparing views of our I always get a kick out of comparing views of our home today to the photos I took during our home inspection. (Swipe to see our main bedroom then!) While I knew the house had potential, it was hard to look past some of the owner’s “design” choices. Though, it looks like the room was destined to have a warm-toned quilt. 😂

P.S. @schoolhouse just released new colors of their popular Stillwater Floral Quilt!

And, for those interested, I’ve linked my bedroom items here: https://liketk.it/5iC8R

It also inadvertently became the weekend I made Dave eat a cheeseburger every day, between @redhotranchchicago, @eatmottst, and @smallcheval. There are worst ways to spend a weekend.

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.
