Cold Shoulder

I wasn’t kidding when I said I was wearing this Gerard Yosca pendant nonstop. It has already become my favorite piece to mix and match with my new summer staples, like the chambray dress I picked up at Express. It’s already sold out, which is a bummer because it’s a pretty solid knockoff of the AG Jeans x Alexa Chung “Honey” dress from earlier this season. The only drawback, as you can see, is that it gets awfully wrinkly! It was perfect when we left the house, but looked like this after 15 minutes in the car. Oh well. I’ll just pile on more jewelry next time to distract the eye! Visit Cara’s blog post today to see how she’s wearing a piece from Gerard Yosca’s latest collection in our #WaysToYosca series. As an added bonus, Gerard is offering a 20% discount with code Mesa20!

In other news, I fractured my foot today. My foot fell asleep while I was working on this post. I needed to start getting ready for work and tried to walk on it. I came down the wrong way, heard a terrible popping noise, and collapsed in excruciating pain. The Urgent Care doctor said it’s a fracture at the base of my little toe, but I still need to go to orthopedics for a follow-up appointment. I’m in a plastic boot/cast and can’t put weight on it. It sucks. On the bright side, who’s up for an outfit photo with a cast and crutches?! 😉 Seriously, though, if anyone has tips on using crutches, I’d love to hear them. I opted to sit on a flight of stairs and scoot up rather than use them. It’s going to be a long month.

Love this outfit and can’t wait to see how you accessorize the boot and crutches – they’ll be your greatest baubles yet 😉 Hope the foot feels better!

you look so cute in your dress, you can always add a belt too. I tried with mine and it looks super cute. Sorry for your foot, it’s crazy how fragile we are.

OMG! I can’t believe you broke your foot! I should be more careful when I walk on my feet after they fall asleep I guess haha. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! On the plus side, you look adorable in this dress.

Thanks, Kimi! The doctor said it’s actually a fairly common way to that people fracture their feet. Be careful next time!

Oh no you poor thing! I hope your foot heals quickly and you don’t have to deal with the crutches for too long!! And I love the new dress on you by the way!

Still a fun summery dress, even with the wrinkles, and I do love the necklace, it’s a stunning piece for sure.

And that is terrible you fractured your foot -and such a weird and unexpected way. Well, I suppose all injuries are unexpected, but still. Bummer you’ve got to spend June in a cast.

That dress is so adorable! Love it. And the necklace is fabulous. Also, sorry about your foot! I broke my foot a few years ago when I slipped on stairs. SO painful. Crutches are the worst. I have a lot of experience with them sadly. I spent 6 weeks on them that time, but had them with previous injuries too.

Oh my gosh! Jessica! I think that is my nightmare! I’m always crossing my legs or sitting on my foot for hours while on the computer and then always put my foot to sleep. OMG! I’m so sorry that happened to you. I had crutches once, back in middle school, and all I remember was my mama rubberbanding towels to the tops to make them more comfortable for me. You look lovely in these photos, btw. Hang in there, sweetie!!

Be careful from now on! The doctor told me that it’s actually fairly common for foot fractures to occur that way. Fortunately, I can work from home today, so I won’t be on crutches much, but I might be adding towels on Monday!
