10 Tassel Earrings Under $100

Tassel Earrings Under $100

It’s no secret that oversize earrings are my favorite trend this season, especially when it comes to tassels — and it seems I’m not the only one craving tassel earrings this spring. I wore the pair above in New Orleans last month and received countless compliments on them. I’m not surprised, though. Who can resist the playful swish of shoulder-dusting fringe?! No one. 😉

Below, you’ll find 10 of my favorite tassel earrings for less than $100. (Most are well below that price point, though!)

  1. The fringe on these drip-dye tassels is unique with a white-to-navy ombre effect.
  2. Can’t decide between hoops or tassels? These are for you.
  3. I featured these in my jewelry roundup last week, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I’m torn between the royal blue and turquoise.
  4. These full silk tassels come in navy and coral.
  5. Kate Spade knocked it out of the park this season with these pompom tassel earrings that come in a rainbow of colors. The yellow pair is my favorite.
  6. These $15 silk stunners are long enough to graze your shoulders. They come in green and turquoise.
  7. How cute is this pair of clustered tassel earrings? The petite size is perfect if you don’t want to go overboard with the fringe.
  8. These neutral color-blocked beaded tassels will go with all of your summer LBDs and LWDs.
  9. These beauties come in eight colors to choose from.
  10. All about color this year? Try these.

Weekend Reading

Weekend Reading 04.09.2017

I’m late to the game with this week’s “Weekend Reading!” My parents came to town yesterday, so we spent the better part of Friday and Saturday morning cleaning our apartment. We went out to dinner last night and today we’re celebrating my grandma’s 80th birthday with extended family. In other news, I had my Madison Magazine photoshoot last week. If you saw my Snapchat story (username: bedknobsbaubles), you know I wasn’t exactly thrilled with most of the images that were taken. We shot at the indoor botanical gardens and it was incredibly humid and any bounce my hair had fell within minutes. Despite my initial reservations about the whole thing, the photo that we ultimately chose for publication is pretty and I’m excited for the issue to hit the mail.

The bigger item occupying our minds is, of course, our house hunt. We’re actually looking at a house in a couple of hours that has potential. It’s not in my ideal neighborhood nor my preferred style of house, but there’s something about it that I really like (in the online photos anyway!). Having our house hunt back in full swing has made me obsessive about pinning interior ideas and shopping for home items like this gorgeous chair from Target and a bar cabinet (easier to keep dust-free than a bar cart). Purchasing large-scale items will have to wait until we have a closing date, so I’m adding a few smaller items to our housewares collection instead. I had a few rewards dollars at West Elm that were due to expire on April 15, so I picked up a cocktail mixing pitcher and this darling seashell bowl. I also recently purchased two of these budget-friendly throw pillows for our bed. (Speaking of pillows, how good is this one?!) I’m keeping these purchases to a minimum, of course, since most of our money will be spent on furniture once we find a place! (Plus, let’s not forget the unsexy purchases we’ll have to make! We’ll need a lawn mower, shovels, rakes, etc. Oh, boy! 😉 )

MIX: Dave and I are on our own for Easter this year. We’re going to make a traditional dinner, but I’d love to mix up fun cocktails during the day to make the holiday feel special. These blended tropical drinks sound incredible.

BYE, JENNA: By now, you’ve all heard the news that Jenna Lyons is leaving J.Crew. Here are nine things to remember about her reign at the retailer.

COLOR CRUSH: I’ll admit that one of the things I’m most excited about with a house is the opportunity to choose a bold color for the front door. I’m loving the cantaloupe orange. Of course, it’ll depend entirely on what color the exterior is. We won’t have money to change the house color right away!

SLIDE INTO SPRING: I wish I had a tropical vacation on the books! If we did, however, I’d be scooping up these slides (which I might buy anyway) and this scalloped swimsuit (or this one).

SUGAR-FREE: I had a doctor’s appointment on Friday and he went on and on about the perils of sugar. Yesterday, I came across this post with three sugar-free desserts that won’t have you missing the white stuff.

IN THE PINK: Paul Smith’s  pink building is one of the most Instagrammed spots in L.A., but is it helping the brand drive sales?

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

  • My favorite dress for spring and summer (and the frock I wore for the Madison Magazine shoot).
  • Coveting a springtime selection of pink, blue, and green.
  • Must-have baubles under $75.

CAUGHT MY EYE:

  • All of the earrings at Anthropologie this season, especially these!
  • A palm-print throw blanket.
  • A polka-dot faux wrap dress.

Baubles on a Budget: Under $75

Baubles on a Budget: Under $75 :: Bedknobs & Baubles

I started “Baubles on a Budget” because there are so many pieces of inexpensive jewelry that, well, look cheap. But that’s not always the case. It takes a fair amount of time to sift through pieces online to find costume jewelry that looks more expensive than it actually is. I know that setting the cap at $75 might even be too expensive for many budgets, especially if you’re not as heart-eyed for jewelry as I am, so I’ll always try to include a range of price points in this monthly roundup. You’ll also notice that I typically stay away from jewelry that’s overly trendy. Those pieces are unlikely to get much love after one season and I believe that anything you buy — budget or not — should be something you’ll want to wear for more than one season. With that in mind, here are the wallet-friendly gems to add to your collection this month:

1. J.Crew Beaded Tassel Earrings, $65* | 2. Lele Sadoughi Solstice Earrings, $55 (on sale!) | 3. Elizabeth and James Bea Ring, $49 (on sale!) | 4. Serefina Fringe Drape Earrings, $66* | 5. Madewell Beaded Charm Necklace, $38 | 6. Bauble Bar Vida Crispin Drops, $34 | 7. Tuckernuck Petite Mixed Lantern Earrings, $48 | 8. Jenny Bird Ariel Earrings, $65* | 9. Rebecca Minkoff Palm Tassel Hoop Earrings, $68 | 10. Meg Carter Pearl Blossom Stud Earrings, $65 | 11. Noir Jewelry Linear Drop Earrings, $56

*My top three!

ASOS Double Layer Cold Shoulder Pleated Mini Dress :: Bedknobs & Baubles

I bought this dress back in January and have been itching to wear it ever since it arrived, so it’s probably not surprising that it was the very first thing I tucked inside my suitcase for our New Orleans trip. I know that interest in off-the-shoulder, cold-shoulder, and peek-a-boo shoulder silhouettes is starting to wane, but I’m still into it when it comes to flirty little numbers like this. The dress sort of reminds me of a Chloé number without the insane price tag. In fact, it’s now on sale for just $36.50! There’s also a green version that’s still full price. I’ll likely add it to my closet the moment it hits the sale section. I have a pair of palm-print flats (sort of like these) that would look darling with it!

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
