Unconventional Necklace Storage

For awhile now, I’ve considered going through my apartment and taking Coveteur-style photos of my belongings. While those items would be meticulously arranged just for a photo, this little corner of the dresser is a glimpse into how I actually deal with the statement necklaces I’m too lazy to put away. I had this Harry Allen piggy bank on my wish list for five years before finally purchasing it in 2015. Of course, it’s an essential place to store wayward coins, but I love its sartorial use even more.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Well, we spent quite a bit of money on Saturday and officially booked an April trip to Denmark and Belgium! We’re spending a week in Copenhagen with day trips to other Danish cities, and an afternoon in Malmö, Sweden. The second week of the trip will be in Brussels. We visited Brussels in 2014 and we’re excited to go back and visit other Belgian cities, including Antwerp, and bring back even more amazing beer to cellar when we buy a house. Please send any and all travel recommendations!

Spending that much money at once always leaves me feeling sick to my stomach. So, this faux fur coat will likely be my last new purchase for awhile, but it’s a good one. The “fur” is silky and smooth — a convincing replica of real fur — and it’s warm enough for a Wisconsin winter. (I felt warmer in this on a windy 20-degree day than I do in the J.Crew stadium cloth cocoon coat. It’s currently -7 degrees outside. I suppose that will be the true test!)

Dave gave me this Tory Burch pitcher for Christmas. It’s gorgeous, but I will admit that the mouth is awfully wide for my grocery store bouquets. I’ve been using this trick to space out the stems for a fuller arrangement.

EAT
I’m on week two of my diet and I’m getting tired of my yogurt and coffee combination. I’m planning to make a batch of oatmeal muffins for a quick and healthy breakfast on the go. I also came across this similar recipe.
