TRAVEL
I have no interest in learning how to ski, but this guide does make ski towns sound appealing.

PRINT
How cute are these printable gift tags?

WEAR
I’m drooling over the pre-fall collections. Erdem’s ’60s-inspired pieces are some of my favorites.

WISH
This eye-catching bracelet by MAU is a striking piece on its own, but would also stack nicely with other favorites.

LEARN
A mini history lesson about this leg-baring skirt.

LAUGH
The Hater’s Guide to the Williams Sonoma Catalog is back.

Covetable

This beach-themed Covetable post is a departure from the holiday sparkle and cocktail dresses we’re all hunting for right now. However, we’re considering a trip to Florida in January and I just want to shop for warm-weather pieces. Surprisingly, last summer’s Tory Burch sandals are still available for just $132. I have a pair of heels from the same collection that are a little snug, but I just might give these a shot. I’m also planning to snag this pair of sandals. This scallop detail is irresistible, plus I have a discount code and reward coupons to bring the price down substantially.

I know the bag featured above is staggeringly expensive for most of us. You can snag a similar vintage version on eBay. (Remember when raffia bags were in vogue? I wasn’t going to spend a boatload on a new one and bought a vintage version on eBay for around $10. So much cheaper and you get the satisfaction of telling people it’s vintage when they ask about it.)

And speaking of handbags, a friend from college now manages a Chicago-area Tory Burch store and gave me a Friends & Family coupon for 30% off a purchase through the end of the month. I also received a $200 Visa gift card from work as a holiday gift. It’s the perfect storm for a purchase, right? I really want this bag. The mod design makes my heart skip a joyful beat. Or, should I pick something more practical like this satchel? It’s still on the smaller side, but will probably fit my camera. Decisions, decisions.

Gift Guide | The Posh Pet Lover

Of course we can’t put a price on our furry friends, but I will point out that Americans love them enough to spend $56 billion on them last year. Just let that sink in for a minute. Fifty-six billion dollars. That obscene amount of money pretty much proves that a pet-centric gift is going to be a home run, especially if it teaches the pet to pull its own weight in the household. (Seriously, it’s about time Bacon starts earning money to pay for his food. He gets more Instagram likes than I do!) And, while I didn’t include it here , this inflatable cat unicorn horn is pretty much the best thing ever.

Perfect Present: DVF Accessories

[dropcap custom_class=”normal”]S[/dropcap]ometimes I forget that luxury brands have gift ideas for those on a budget and DVF is no different. There are plenty of accessories and handbags that come in under the $200 mark and many of the cutest items come in at under $100. I, for one,  would be delighted to find the little travel jewelry box with DVF’s signature lip print under the tree.

Gift Guide | Stocking Stuffers

As far as I’m concerned, the stocking is the best part of Christmas morning. The teeny wrapped packages! The piles of candy! What’s not to love? I’m guest posting over at La Vie Jaime today to share what I’d love to find in my stocking on Christmas morning. You can also find more stocking selections on Pinterest. I’ll keep adding to this board as I come across fun, affordable ideas.

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
