This week, I’m smitten with:

  • A beautiful dress reminiscent of Hokusai’s woodblock print The Wave. Kent Wang actually has a pocket square of the print. I gave it to Dave for Christmas a couple of years ago, but I might have to “borrow” it to tie to the handle of a handbag this spring.
  • This bag in a rich, inky navy. There’s also a hot pink version that I’m obsessing over.
  • The playful fringe hem on this boxy sweater. I’m also loving the eyelet hem on this one.
  • Pink sunglasses. It’s pretty much the easiest way to brighten your look for spring, even if you’re still wearing wool coats.
  • Lele Sadoughi’s spring pieces, especially this pair of earrings.
  • Sophisticated sage flats.

This week, I’m smitten with:

  • The white lace details in a jumpsuit by Endless Rose and a loose frock by English Factory. In fact, I think I’m going to spring for the dress. It would be the perfect canvas for a huge necklace and would look adorable with my new sandals. (Better yet, it’s only $72!)
  • These Miu Miu block heel pumps are totally out of my price range, but the crystal and black rhinestone detail is too cute.
  • The layers of pleats in this lipstick red skirt.
  • Striped taper candles! I mean, really, if you’re going to have candlesticks, they may as well be striped. (Be sure to hit up your local Goodwill for some vintage brass candlestick holders. I’ve picked some up for just a few dollars.)
  • Classic red nail polish. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!
  • All of Tory Burch’s new arrivals. I’m still trying to justify $250 monkey earrings*, but I’m also taken with these artisanal drops.

*I filed my taxes last weekend and I’m getting a decent return. These might have to be my annual splurge. I’m obsessed with them.

I’m sorry that it’s been so quiet around these parts this week. It seems that Sunday’s snowstorm put a damper on my spirits and my blog posting schedule! Venturing out to take photos just isn’t as fun as staying inside with board games (Pandemic, specifically). In any case, here’s what I’m smitten with this week:

  • J.Crew’s metallic pleated skirt. Midi skirts aren’t flattering on me, but this would be an easy piece to hem. It also comes in navy.
  • Shopbop just added a bunch of new items to its sale section, including beautiful pieces by Tibi. The flouncy hem on that tank is just too cute.
  • I’m growing tired of Eddie Borgo’s signature cone studs, but I love the designer’s fringe pieces this season. (Dave’s sister is getting married in April and I think the earrings would be perfect for the dress I’m planning to wear.)
  • These ultra girly Kate Spade pumps are also from Shopbop’s sale section. They also come in black and most sizes are available. (The black pair would look so good with slim cigarette pants.)
  • Has anyone tried the latest from Clinique?
  • I don’t have anything fancy to dress up for, but I’d totally buy this skirt if I did.
  • Not Pictured: I had no idea my recent Instagram would become my most-liked photo ever. (I even exclaimed to Dave that “this must be how popular bloggers feel!”) You can snag the phone case here.

I’m still shirking winter attire in favorite of warm-weather attire. After all, there are only 50 days until spring. Not like I’m counting down or anything…

A CHEVRON BATHING SUIT
I love the retro cut of this chevron bathing suit. It also comes in orange.

A QUIRKY CLUTCH
If you have money to blow on something that’s sure to make you smile, this Kotur clutch is it.

[spacer]

SUNSHINE YELLOW
Yellow isn’t the most flattering color on me, but I can’t get enough of it this season. (I just ordered this iPhone case.) A pair of shorts is a great way to incorporate the color without it casting a sallow glow on my face. And, speaking of shorts, Gap has an adorable striped pair right now.

A TASTE OF MEXICO
Meals are set for the season with this collection of 650 Mexican recipes.

THIS GLITTER TOPCOAT
It’s like spring confetti! Pair this glittery topcoat with pale ocean hues.

[spacer]

A PAIR OF ORANGE SCALLOPED HEELS
I don’t wear heels very often anymore, but this adorable pair is enough to get me back in the saddle.

A BRIGHT SPRING DRESS
Admittedly, I rarely think to shop Trina Turk and I’ve just realized how misguided I was. This saffron dress first caught my eye, but it’s the new arrivals section that has my wish list bursting at the seams with this jacket, a dress, and a swimsuit that I’ll purchase if I get down to my goal weight before summer.

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you may remember that I used to do a weekly roundup in a format similar to this. I strayed away from it because there were countless items I came across each week that I wanted to share. However, that’s kind of the problem. With so many available items and so many blogs competing for your attention, I want to go back to sharing the best of the best. From now on, the “Currently Coveted” posts will be dedicated to items that truly sparked my excitement and are worth a closer look.

A TROPICAL CLUTCH
Few things make me want to book a tropical escape more than Kayu’s woven handbags. The embroided palm leaves make the Makaha clutch my favorite.

[spacer]

A FEMININE SWIMSUIT
Kate Spade’s swimsuit collection is both glamorous and romantic. If you love the bow on this bikini, but would rather cover up, there are one-piece suits available (including a striped version!).

[spacer]

EVERY PIECE IN THIS PLAYFUL EDITORIAL
This Alice + Olivia lookbook inspires me to choose an obscure destination, hit the road, and stay in retro motels along the way. (I’m also kind of obsessed with the Stace sweater.)

[spacer]

A PAIR OF CASUAL ESPADRILLES
Last year’s must-have shoe has finally grown on me. I’m yearning for that Tory Burch pair, but you can browse more options here. The Soludos pair with the embroidered toucan is tempting.

[spacer]

A STYLE STEAL
Every now and then Bauble Bar really hits it out of the park. This is one major necklace for just $44.

A MINT COAT TO WEAR INTO SPRING
I don’t switch up my coats as often as I’d like (they’re expensive!), but this mint coat is just begging to come home to me. Does anyone know if it has a double zipper? There’s no way a cocoon coat will fit over my hips without a little more room at the hem.

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
