We’re headed to Fort Lauderdale in one month, which is pretty much the perfect excuse to revamp my summer wardrobe with pieces like this adorable beach tunic (runs large) and the new bag I’m obsessed with. Gerard Yosca also sent over this necklace from his latest collection, Flowerball, which just might be the only gem I pack. (More on the new collection coming soon. It’s a good one!) Well, that and the monkey earrings.
Style Steals: Under $100
I spent much of last weekend cleaning our apartment and freshening things up for spring. Now it’s time to hit refresh on my wardrobe. Spring clothing is great because you can find a lot of really beautiful pieces on a budget. Here are some of my favorites:
- A sweet Kate Spade necklace featuring a cylindrical pendant dotted with crystals.
- A drapey top that goes from the work week to the weekend with ease.
- A pair of small stud earrings by Alexis Bittar.
- Classic espadrilles with a leather upper and ankle ribbons.
- A sunshiny update to sailor stripes. (You’ll also be happy to know that The Outnet now has free shipping. Finally.)
- The cutest floral shorts from J.Crew in a cotton-linen blend.
- A scalloped neckline on this dress from LOFT. (It also comes in mint!)
- A crochet dress that’s just begging to be worn with flat sandals and an oversize bucket bag.
- A raffia clutch with a neon stripe.
- Simple sandals.
In the Pink
Even though I’m absolutely exhausted the week Daylight Savings Time begins, knowing that warm weather is on the horizon is worth every minute of sleepiness! The majority of this week is forecasted to be in the upper 50s and I can’t wait to wear more spring dresses (sans tights!) like this a-line shift from BB Dakota. It’s such an easy piece to throw on and feel pulled together. (It’s only $88, which makes the blue version awfully tempting.)

This week, I’m smitten with:
- A cheerful red dress that’s under $100! Not only do I adore the color, I love that there are stretchy insets at the sides to ensure a perfect fit and it’s bra-friendly. It also comes in black with striped sides. (I’m pretty excited that Madewell items are now more readily available at other retailers, especially when those retailers that have free shipping both ways.)
- A raffia box adorned with a pineapple closure. It’s a chic way to hide any small trinkets on your coffee table. (Speaking of which, I really like pineapples and just started a Pinterest board of ’em.)
- Bold color. Weathermen are forecasting a spring heatwave next week in the low 50s. Just knowing spring is on the horizon puts me in the mood for bright, saturated color. This blanket is pricey, but it’s a fun inspiration piece.
- Elephants.
- Lemons and limes on this maxi dress. What do you think? Ridiculous or a must-have for Florida? (Possibly both.)
- The cutest chambray romper.
- A red bucket bag. Nothing screams summer like the reemergence of nautical pieces. A patriotic bucket bag keeps it on-trend.
- Not Pictured: I’m tempted to snag these pillows for our bed. The pattern reminds me of Tory Burch’s summer textiles.

This week, I’m smitten with:
- A striped spring coat. There’s also this one for those looking for a dressier–and slightly cheaper–alternative. It’s very Kate Spade, no?
- This is as close as I’ll get to wearing sneakers with casual clothes.
- I know this clutch has already made the rounds, but it’s worth posting on the off chance you haven’t seen it. One side says “oui” and the other says “non.” Perfect for those indecisive days.
- It’s time to take an extra 40-50% off sale items at J.Crew! I’m not much for heels, but I really like these. And they’re still available in a 7!
- Has anyone come across a more affordable version of this swimsuit? Preferably a one-piece.
- A welcome desk accessory upgrade. I’m still using a clear plastic card holder that was under $5 from Staples.
- Can you believe this backpack is $40 from Target?! The design is perfection. I’m not normally one to encourage faux-leather, but something as trendy as this isn’t worth an investment.
- Soon (I hope!) it’ll be time for shorts and breezy tops. The detail on this one keeps it from being just another basic tee.
