LAUGH
Doctored images of world leaders rocking man buns has pretty much made my week. There’s more here!

MAKE
Create a DIY pom pom table runner in time for Thanksgiving. Go bright like Leah did or opt for a subtle color combination. Then, shop Anthropologie’s sale section for additional table accessories. There’s an extra 30% off sale items right now with code XTRAXTRA. I’m loving this serving platter and these wine glasses.

KNOW
Before you binge on the candy you “bought for trick-or-treaters,” read these fun facts about Halloween favorites.

SHOP
J.Crew has a great promotion right now. Take $25 off orders of $125+, $75 off orders of $250+ or $175 off orders of $500+. I’ve got my eye on a new bright coat for winter and leopard flats.

SIP
This is undoubtedly the best link I’ve ever come across: pineapple tumblers. The large version with a straw is $99, but there are smaller pineapple tumblers and pairs of shot glasses for $29. I’m totally ordering something today.

ADOPT
Photographer Casey Christopher is on a mission to help black cats get adopted.

FIVE UNDER $55
EARLIER THIS WEEK
Five style tips.
This week’s most coveted.
A budget update.
Went mod in a ’60s-inspired outfit.
Visited an iconic Madison bar that had an Instagrammable face lift.

DRILL
Forget carving a face into your Jack O’ Lantern this year and opt for drilled polka dots to give your pumpkin a celestial effect.

MASQUERADE
Sleepy Holly Golightly is one of my go-to costumes when I’m in a pinch. (Just make sure your friends actually know of the movie. Otherwise, you risk looking like a walk of shame, albeit a glamorous one.)

PLAN
We’re starting to think about next year’s travel plans. I’ve bookmarked this list of ten one-week European itineraries just in case.

DECORATE
Finally! A chic, affordable bar cart that comes in at just $130.

WATCH
‘Tis the season for horror movies. Here’s a list of the top 50 scariest movies of all time.

COOK
Spending time in the kitchen making hearty meals is one of my favorite things about fall. I’m anxious to try this take on beer cheese soup.

NOTABLE SALES
Take 20% off full-price items at Lulu Frost with code FF2015.
Take 20% off jewelry at Kelly Wearstler with code FALLFLASH.
Save up to 70% at Tory Burch’s private sale.

EARLIER THIS WEEK
I finally found a cape!
I worked with Minted to pick out a new piece of artwork.
I wore these “darling” earrings.
I coveted a selection of silver and grey.
I harassed our cat.

LEARN
In an increasingly digital — and photo heavy — age, there’s immense pressure to always work our best angles. There’s nothing wrong with that, as Garance Doré points out, but there’s also more to life.

DAYDREAM
We’re starting to look at houses, which is as nerve-wracking and intimidating as it is exciting! We actually found a small ’50s home that had been completely renovated. I’m crazy about it, but it doesn’t have a place to eat, aside from a tiny “eat-in kitchen” area that wouldn’t fit four adults. And, it really bothers me. It’s also $50,000 over what I wanted to spend. In the meantime, I’m stashing money away for the big day and daydreaming about home decor. I’m loving this inspiration post.

STEP
The New York Times goes inside the mind of Karl Lagerfeld.

SHAKE
Classic cocktails are long overdue for a comeback. Toss four ingredients into a shaker this weekend and take flight with an aviation.

SAVE
Loeffler Randall’s Friends & Family Sale is in full force (use code SQUADGOALS). I’ve wanted these star-studded sandals for years. Silver is the only color remaining in my size and I had my heart set on gold, so we’ll see if these finally make their way to my closet.

SWOON
This three-year-old will put your Halloween costume to shame. (She should find a Choupette lookalike and go as Karl next year.)

NOTABLE SALES
20% off full-price clothing at Anthropologie.
25% off at Kate Spade’s Friends & Family sale. (A fox hat is a reasonable purchase, right?)
Saks Fifth Avenue is offering 25% off most items and 20% off jewelry.

FIVE UNDER $55

EARLIER THIS WEEK
I’ve worn a windowpane mini dress on repeat. (Seriously, three times this week…)
This post skewed a bit Alice in Wonderland, but I like it.
A necklace that’s as versatile as a LBD.
Couldn’t pass up an opportunity to snap a photo on a cute floor.

GO
The beauty of Paris Fashion Week is perfectly captured in just 20 behind-the-scenes photos.

BAKE
If you’re already tired of pumpkin pie and the #PSL, try this pumpkin panna cotta tart with a gingersnap macaroon crust.

LEARN
I’m so proud of a local high school that’s doing away with homecoming kings and queens in an effort to be more inclusive of its entire student body. [Insert praising hands emoji here.]

DRINK
Many of you know I’m a beer girl and I’m beyond excited to have Kate Spade beer glasses for our at-home happy hours.

MARBLEIZE
Sure, you could put those mini pumpkins out in a bowl and call it a day, but it’s way more Instagrammable to marbleize them with old nail polish.

BECOME
An Elle editor tried her hand at becoming an Instagram celebrity. Here’s what the experience taught her.

FIVE UNDER $55

EARLIER THIS WEEK
I daydreamed about a London getaway in my plaid coat.
I shared six items that caught my eye.
I admitted to wearing my new LBD more often than I should.
I daydreamed about our next trip.
I purchased a pair of ankle boots and a grey hooded cape.
I put these on my wishlist, but purchasing sandals seems silly in the fall.

MASTER
We picked up the new iPhones this week and the camera is ah-mazing. I’ll be testing it out with these flatlay tips.

TRANSFORM
Studio 54 has nothing on this adorable disco costume.

COOK
We’re celebrating the end of the week with homemade pizza tonight. Do you have any topping recommendations? I’m thinking something with arugula and goat cheese.

EAT
If Philadelphia is on your travel list, refer to Laura’s restaurant guide before you go!

CREATE
Save money on save-the-date cards with this DIY.

ANTICIPATE
All I want for Christmas is you … and Mariah Carey’s upcoming lipstick in collaboration with MAC cosmetics.

FIVE UNDER $55

Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until la Our guest room wasn’t a design priority until late last year when we finally bought a bed, mattress, and a set of sheets. We used some of our own extra bedding (tucking in the generous overhang of our king blankets under the queen-sized mattress) and old bedside lamps from our bedroom: functional, but not quite the charming space I’d envisioned.

That started to change when I purchased the Popcorn Grid Coverlet from Schoolhouse — an item I’d been eyeing for years — plus some graphic floral pillows. Then came a bright blue round cushion and the sweetest Teig lamp, both generously gifted by Schoolhouse, and the room finally started to come together. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hi Growing up in northern Wisconsin, lilacs always hit peak bloom right around my birthday on May 30. My mom would fill a large crystal vase with fresh-cut stems, and their scent would waft through the house.

Now that I live a few hours south and lilac season wraps up earlier, the blooms actually mark the start of my birthday month.

I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog I’m challenging myself to get through a backlog of travel photos before we book our next trip. First up, photos of the gothic York Minster. I’m not religious in the slightest but I can’t resist stunning architecture and the opportunity to climb hundreds of cathedral stairs for a city view. This one only had a single rest stop about halfway up the flight of 275 steps for a closeup view of the flying buttresses — and a waiver you had to sign before your ascent to promise you’re healthy enough to make it.
