I hated the flavor of pineapples up until a few years ago, but I’ve always loved the way they look. A vintage brass pineapple ice bucket is actually one of my prized possessions*, but the obsession certainly doesn’t end there. I’d love to own this Tory Burch tunic or even this cute ice cube tray, but this pair of earrings is topping my wish list. I came across Three Jane on Instagram the other day and fell for the bold cocktail-ready earrings by designer Katie Schloss. You’ll learn more about her in next week’s “Behind the Baubles” feature.

*They tend to be expensive on eBay, but there are a couple of affordable ones available right now here and here. Just add a little brass polish and you’re good to go.

SHOP
Lilly Pulitzer items are quintessentially summer. There’s a gift-with-purchase promotion this weekend with presents for all spending levels. I recently purchased this dress. I had to go up two sizes to shimmy into it, but it was worth it. There are cups sewn into the bodice, so I don’t even need to wear a bra (a perk with such a low back). And I caved and ordered this dress today.

Being groggy might actually make you more creative.

I can’t wait to see Iris. Until then, I’ll just enjoy learning more about the vivacious lady through an interview.

FITNESS UPDATE
I’m down another .8 pounds this week for a total weight loss of 6.1 pounds since I started! (Woo!) I think this will finally be the weekend Dave and I invest in running shoes. (Eep!)

IN OTHER NEWS
There will be a lot of NCAA trash talk this weekend as I obsess over my bracket. (I used this emoji list and women’s intuition to fill it out.) I’m also planning to stop by the greenhouse for a selection of succulents. I’d love to plant something like this. I returned my entire Ann Taylor order. This jacket ran large in the shoulders and I liked it, but not enough to size down. The polyester fabric of this romper made that horrible crinkly sound and it ran awfully small in the hips.

Behind the Baubles // Katie Jewelry Design

I’ll admit that I’m not the most spiritual person, but I can definitely appreciate it–and admire it–in people like Katie Scott. The Houston-based interior designer launched her brand in 2005, but it wasn’t until years of reflection and a commitment to spirituality that she launched her jewelry collection with the intent to bring more meaningful and symbolic jewelry to the marketplace. Of course her collection includes the cross, the Star of David, and the hamsa, but there are also more subtle designs that don’t immediately read as spiritual. Take this ring or cuff, for instance. The design looks just like lattice work, even though it’s made of crosses. There are also rosary-inspired pieces that are studded with metal dots and diamonds. For me, I love the starburst ring (what a statement!), the simple Katie band (the perfect everyday ring), and the Katie choker (sleek enough to layer with other pieces).

Sale Alert // Tory Burch Private Sale

The Tory Burch Private Sale launched today, which means it’s time to pick up a few fantastic summer items for the coming months and a few cold-weather must-haves to tuck away until fall (like these gloves — sigh!). I adore this tote from last year’s limited collection to celebrate the opening of the Rodeo Drive store. I already own a Tory Burch smartphone wristlet (it was my birthday gift from Dave last year) and it’s incredibly handy for travel. This patent leather version comes in light oak and black. Need a new piece of jewelry to breathe new life into your wardrobe? Try this green and turquoise necklace. And, for $29, this key fob is a steal. It conceals a bottle opener and there’s a subtle embossed “Cheers” on one side. I’ll drink to that!

The Coveted

This week, I’m smitten with:

A vibrant splash of yellow in the form of an easy to grab-and-go clutch. It’s no surprise that this Tory Burch version is my favorite. It also comes in the prettiest pale pink.
Leopard for spring. I actually ordered this coat last weekend with the Ann Taylor Friends & Family promotion (along with this romper). I added it to my order to qualify for free shipping, but I’m actually pretty excited for it to arrive. I’ve been wearing a lot of black to work and this coat would make the commute to work feel less depressing.
This adorable striped dress. It has good reviews and it’s only $35. Well done, Old Navy.
Wooden accessories, especially this tropical-meets-modern necklace. (This $15 H&M necklace is also great.)
A vibrant Florence Broadhurst beach towel. I fell for Florence Broadhurst’s designs when Kate Spade did a collaboration with the brand. I don’t exactly need another beach towel when my Turkish bath towel does a fantastic job, but this one is tempting. (It was on sale last weekend for 50% off. Keep an eye on it in hopes that it goes down again.)
