If you couldn’t tell from yesterday’s post, I’ve been on a bit of an earring kick lately. So much so that I’ve actually added two new pairs over the last week: Tory Burch monkey hoops and petite tassels from J.Crew. Even if I hadn’t mentioned it last week, I’m sure you could tell the monkey earrings were destined to be mine. I talked about them last fall, right after the Tory Burch runway when they were available for pre-order, and again when the full spring jewelry collection was online. I purchased them as my annual “Tax Return Splurge,” so even though they’re wildly indulgent, I don’t feel too bad about spending the money on something so quirky. They’re sturdier than I expected and they do feel a little heavy after wearing them for a full day. The other pair, the J.Crew tassels, were an impulsive purchase this past weekend. We spent Saturday night in Milwaukee and stopped at J.Crew (not surprisingly, their store is larger than the one in Madison). I spotted the earrings on a table display as I was leaving and couldn’t resist. They have a nice weight to them, which I wouldn’t have guessed from the stock photo.
Bauble of the Week
As much as I love gigantic statement earrings, you’ll only see me wear them occasionally. Why? One of my biggest fears is becoming an old lady with droopy earlobes* after wearing them for decades. Thankfully, there are plenty of gorgeous button earrings that pack as much punch as their chandelier cousins. All of the studs featured here are by Gerard Yosca and they’re anything but boring. My favorites are the daisies. They’re the perfect amount of retro chic and would look fabulous with a shift dress this spring. Browse the entire collection of button earrings here and if you also love the daisy earrings, you’ll be smitten with the new Flowerball collection.

*Dave insists that there’s probably a surgery for that. If doctors can fix the earlobes of people who wear plugs, they can probably fix old lady lobes. And if I happen to develop them over time, you bet I’ll be hashtagging #OldLadyLobes on Instagram.

FITNESS UPDATE
I’m down 1.1 pounds this week making my total weight loss 4.9 pounds since I started working out on Jan. 15. I’ve only exercised once week and really need to get back in the swing of things if we’re going to start the couch-to-5K program mid-March.
Behind the Baubles | Jet Set Candy
After a six-month hiatus, “Behind the Baubles” is back and I couldn’t be more excited to reintroduce the series to you with my latest jewelry crush: Jet Set Candy. This is the ultimate jewelry-meets-travel collection with wearable keepsakes to commemorate your favorite destinations. The are darling rings, pendants, bracelets, and over 200 charms to choose from, ranging from luggage tags to hookahs to cocktail shakers. Founder Nicole Parker King, a world traveler herself, spared no details when creating these pint-sized souvenirs. Just look at this British candy charm with its brightly colored Smarties! My favorites are the Amsterdam pieces, but only because there isn’t a Brussels luggage tag with a teeny glass of beer!

This week, I’m smitten with:
- A striped spring coat. There’s also this one for those looking for a dressier–and slightly cheaper–alternative. It’s very Kate Spade, no?
- This is as close as I’ll get to wearing sneakers with casual clothes.
- I know this clutch has already made the rounds, but it’s worth posting on the off chance you haven’t seen it. One side says “oui” and the other says “non.” Perfect for those indecisive days.
- It’s time to take an extra 40-50% off sale items at J.Crew! I’m not much for heels, but I really like these. And they’re still available in a 7!
- Has anyone come across a more affordable version of this swimsuit? Preferably a one-piece.
- A welcome desk accessory upgrade. I’m still using a clear plastic card holder that was under $5 from Staples.
- Can you believe this backpack is $40 from Target?! The design is perfection. I’m not normally one to encourage faux-leather, but something as trendy as this isn’t worth an investment.
- Soon (I hope!) it’ll be time for shorts and breezy tops. The detail on this one keeps it from being just another basic tee.
